Alexa was diagnosed on Sept. 24, 2008 and had decompression surgery November 5, 2008.

Alexa suffered for over 6 months before we knew what the problem was. We took her to her eye doctor, pediatrician, It wasn't until she began walking into walls and complained of head pressure that she was sent for an MRI.

We had no clue till On Sept. 24, 2008 we took Alexa to her pediatrician because she was complaining of head pressure. After talking to the pediatrician on how we had taken her to eye doctor for these symptoms along with others like blurred vision and more she seemed concerned and sent her for an MRI.
It is then we learned Alexa suffered from Chiari Malformation Type 1. We had no clue what this was.
To make the story short her symptoms got worse and her surgery was moved up to November 5, 2008 and here we are recovering. She is doing well.

One of the things I really admire about her is she was very strong during her surgery, She got ahold of the scripture JOSHUA 1:9.

Alexa had her surgery at Childrens Hospital in Dallas. THEY WERE GREAT!!!!
DR DALE SWIFT IS THE BEST DOCTOR-Neurosurgeons for Childrens. Alexa received alot of support from her church friends, pastors and school teachers and friends. The hospital nurses said she won the award for the patient who received the most balloons.
